Bodnant gardens

Bodnant Gardens - A National Trust Treasure

Bodnant gardens truly is spectacular all year round. Spring opens the seasons with new buds emerging and local wildlife awakening from hibernation. Followed by the welcoming summer, full of colour and fragrant flower aromas.

Vibrant greens turn to flaming reds and burnt oranges as the season changes to autumn; squirrels fattening themselves up ready to face the cold. Ending with winter, leaving frost tips on blades of grass and the winter gardens flourishing.

Whether you enjoy the botanicals, wildlife or simply just tea and cake, Bodnant gardens has something for everyone.

The gardeners clearly work hard and pay close attention to detail, evident in the beautiful placement of flowers, shrubs and the management of trees. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen – squirrels will run across your path, dragonflies dance along the pond and if you are very lucky you may even spot a kingfisher along the stream!

The numerous café’s and refreshment huts sell a variety of hot and cold drinks, food and delicious cakes, always welcomed on any visit.

Children are catered for here too. Not only will they enjoy exploring the vast grounds, discovering hidden ponds, hopping over stepping stones and trying to spot otters in the old mill. Bodnant also hosts many children friendly activities year-round. Pond dipping at the pin mill, fairy house making in the old meadow and Christmas crafts plus marshmallow toasting, it is never dull!
